“There is nothing which has yet been contrived by man, by which so much happiness is produced as a good tavern”
Samuel Johnson

Come in and make yourself at home!

What is your favourite tipple? Take your time to soak up the atmosphere and warm yourself while you choose your lunch from our delicious local menu. Comforting soup and crusty bread fresh from the oven, hearty steak and ale pie with creamy mash and veg, seasonal of course, the choice is all yours.

Out for a stroll or walking the Two Moors Way? You will need some sustenance to keep you going – a pint at the end of a walk, or even in the middle is great motivation!  Your muddy boots, dogs and children are all welcome to sit awhile enjoying your meal – and bringing mud is optional!

You will love the relaxed atmosphere, variety of drinks and the mouth-watering menu. The fireside chairs are most popular and oh so relaxing – nodding off is not uncommon!

Real Ale, Lager including Utopian from just down the road, Guinness, Gin (loads of them), Whisky, Vodka, Wine and of course there are soft drinks too! Ready to raise a glass and catch up with friends? Dry January or driving - we do have alcohol free gin, cider, Guinness and lager for you.

Your lunchtime choices are available from 12 until 2.30pm and your evening menu from 6pm until 8.30pm. The menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten free choices – just ask if you need further info! Boooking is strongly advised.
